We are therefore delighted to announce that instead of some boring Black Friday offer, we will be running a greener promotion! From now until Thursday 5th December (extended beyond the previous deadline of Tuesday 3rd December), we will be planting a tree for every purchase on the site. So, not so much Black Friday as a Green Friday Week!
Of the 1 billion items of clothing made each year, almost 40% of all production is never utilised. It means a dump truck of textiles waste goes straight to landfill, every second. And when you think about it, climate change is because of stuff like this. CO2 pollution occurs as part of the process of making things. Instead of making more things and hoping for change, let's change the way things are done.
Now, this offer is in addition to our ongoing offer of donating profits from the #showyourstripes collection to Mossy Earth (a social enterprise) to plant trees on our behalf! This time around, the partner getting these seeds in the ground is Tree-Nation. It's likely that the funds will be used as part of reforestation projects in Madagascar.
